The Stryker 1588 AIM (Advanced Image Modality) camera system allows surgeons to visualize anatomy and blood flow during a variety of minimally invasive and open procedures. The high-definition camera system is designed to help distinguish critical anatomy with multiple dedicated surgical imaging modes, including ENV (Endoscopic Near Infrared Visualization).  

ENV mode enhances visualization of anatomy in real-time during surgery. When this mode is activated, it allows surgeons to visually assess blood flow, tissue perfusion and biliary ducts by using fluorescent light. ENV is used with a fluorescent indocyanine green (ICG) dye.

It is a common misconception that all you need is a Stryker 1588 AIM camera control unit for ENV mode to be activated during surgery. There are a few other medical devices that must accompany the 1588 AIM camera control unit for ENV mode to work:

• L10 LED AIM Light Source—provides real-time endoscopic visibility and near-infrared fluorescence imaging. This light source will connect to the 1588 AIM Camera Control Unit.

• A-to-A USB Cable—this cord will connect the 1588 AIM Camera Control Unit to the L10 LED Light Source w/ AIM box. AA Medical Store will provide this cord. 
• Stryker Fiber Optic Cable—plugs into the L10 LED AIM light source. The other end of the Fiber Optic cable will plug into the adapter on the laparoscope. It is a mistaken belief that for ENV mode to work, a green Stryker Fiber Optic cable must be used. This is NOT TRUE! Multiple light cables will work and still allow ENV mode to be activated.
