Leadership Behind the Scenes: Meet AA Medicals President Ron Plantz

Ron Plantz began his career working for Stryker, one of the world's leading medical technology companies, for 19 years when he noticed a need for legal aftermarket care. He wanted to help meet this need and help as many people as possible, thus establishing AA Medical in 2012. We expanded into an additional warehouse space, opened a second location in Miami, sold to 10,000 customers, and shipped to over 150 countries globally.

Our success can be attributed to Ron's passion and dedication to the AA Medical team. He explains that he sees himself as a coach and loves helping everyone grow and overcome challenges together. In addition, Ron instills a can-do attitude and says that "hearing that we can't do something helps motivate our team to work even harder."

As we pursue growth, Ron says he can't wait for us to continue establishing ourselves by growing into our facilities and becoming the most significant worldwide provider of third-party medical equipment.

To learn more about Ron, check out some of his Q&As below.

Is your glass half-full or half-empty?

I'm just a half-full kind of person. In life, you have the good and the bad, but waking up each morning will always make the glass full.

What do you appreciate most in life?

The thing that I appreciate the most in life is family. You can always count on your family. These bonds are essential because family helps us get through the most disastrous and best times.

What is the best way to start your day?

The earlier, the better. It is being able to reflect on the day and the peace that comes with it in the morning and having a nice big cup of coffee.

What makes a good boss?

There are a few things that make a good boss. First, understanding - being aware that everyone is different and that some items may not work for some employees is okay; consistency is vital, especially in a business. Finally, there are opportunities to learn more through listening rather than speaking.

What are your favorite traditions?

The Christmas holidays are always my favorite. There are so many traditions that we have been doing for years and years that I enjoy more each year.

What is your favorite food?

My favorite food is Lasagna.

Favorite Memory at AA Medical?

There are so many memories that come to mind when trying to pick which is my favorite. I think my favorite is seeing a young person coming into their own. Watching them grow not just in a professional aspect but personally as well.

Favorite Quote?

My favorite quote of all time is, "Jesus bless me with your peace." It was on the mirror in my son Zacs' bathroom. I think this quote is the most inclusive quote there is. If you are trying your best, you will be at peace because you are making an effort.
