Meet Vinny Ciccio, the Director of Sales at AA Medical. Vinny grew up on the southwest side of Chicago by Midway airport until high school, when they moved to New Lenox. Vinny and his family have been lifelong Chicago Whitesox fans, and he's even played baseball since he could walk. Vinny went to Illinois State University and jumped straight into the sales world. His path to AA was somewhat unique as his wife, Aly, has a position here. He came in one day to pick her up from work, and Matthew Nelson, the CEO of AA Medical, asked to speak with him about a new job opportunity. Since starting here, the whole company has felt like family. Vinny is excited about the future and moving forward toward innovation and growth. Aside from his work, Vinny enjoys spending time with his wife and their two dogs, Enzo and Ava.
To learn more about Vinny, look at some of his Q&As below.
Do you have any mentors in your professional life?
One of my mentors is my manager from my first job out of college. He led by his actions and always made it about the customer. It was easy to tell that he emphasized relationships by the way his customers would talk to him and undeniably trust him. I attribute a lot of my career success to Dave and the unique job opportunity I had.
Do you have any vacations planned?
My next trip is to Tampa, Florida, to watch the Buccaneers Play the Chiefs! Seeing the best to ever do it (Tom Brad) against one of the rising stars in the NFL will be a once-in-a-lifetime experience.
What's something you find challenging about your work?
What I find challenging in my work is realizing that not every decision will make everyone happy. But on the other hand, it's a privilege to be in a position to impact AA Medical's growth directly. So always be mindful of the company's interest while still being thoughtful to each person involved.
What's your favorite holiday?
My Favorite holiday is Thanksgiving, without question! All holidays are lovely but being able to eat great food with great people and watch football all day is a perfect mix. I'm also terrible at wrapping presents, so…
What's your favorite way to spend a day off?
My favorite way to spend a day off is relaxing and recharging at home. My wife Aly and I recently purchased our first home this spring, so enjoying our time together with our two dogs is perfection. But then, finding time for video games and watching sports is a cherry on top.
What's the best piece of career advice you've ever “received”?
The best piece of career advice I’ve ever received was “Carry yourself for the job you want not the job you have”.
Is your glass half-full or half empty?
My glass is always half-Full. Where your mind is will dictate where you go.
What's your idea of a perfect day?
The perfect day is definitely 78 and Sunny, with food on the grill, and enjoying time outside with friends.
Are you most productive in the morning, afternoon, or night?
I’m an early bird so definitely the morning.
Do you have any pets?
We have 2 German Shepherds. Enzo who’s 4 years old and Ava who’s 6 months.
